![]() (In fairness, Adobe's FDK for OpenType also has table dumping/recompiling tools, just not quite as slick as TTX. It can also recompile the text file back into a font. This dumps the font info to an XML text file, which can be viewed/edited in any text editor or anything that can handle XML. Excerpts from his blog: Currently, if I want a simple and accurate representation of the contents of a TrueType or OpenType font, and possibly to edit the info, I have been using the wondrous open source TTX tool, which is based on the FontTools library. The Rulers in AI CS5 work differently and this makes it slightly more difficult for you when you are using the horizontal guides to get the y-values. Go to the File Handling & Clipboard section and make sure the only things selected are AICB and Preserve Paths: Open your preferences panel (Mac: Illustrator > Preferences) or (Win PC: Edit > Preferences). To ensure all the artwork you copy from Illustrator over to FontLab stays accurate, you will need to adjust the File Handling settings in Illustrator. ![]() Part 1 Part 2 How to set the preferences in Illustrator
